UNIT I: ILLUSTRATION

We represent illustrators who specialise in layout and storyboard illustration.

Scribble

The simplest form of illustration - roughly sketched or , if need be, with more details. Optionally colored in greyscale.

Storyboard

The classic amongst layout illustrations. Is generally used to tell the story of a commercial, using pictures instead of words.

Key Visual

The key visual seeks to tell the crucial part of a story in only one image. This most detailed form of layout illustration can also be a draft for print ads or POS stands.

Animatic

These illustrations are generally larger than storyboard frames and contain layers which are necessary for animation.

UNIT II: PRODUCTION

Narrative

The basic form of a completely illustrated testfilm. Without any or, in some cases, very little animation but with a narrator to explain what is happening.

Animatic

The classic amongst testfilms. Based on illustrations with layers which are animated.

Photomatic

When realism or subtle emotions are needed, a photomatic might be the best choice. Animated photos composed of stock material and a photo shooting with models or actors.

Digimatic

Instead of illustrations the digimatic consists of 3D renderings and is the closest to the TVC in terms of movement and camera, which is reflected in the labour needed for its production.
