How can I contact you ?

Our business hours are Monday to Friday from 10am to 6.30pm. During this time, we can be reached by phone. Feel free to send us an email anytime. We're checking them frequently, even on weekends. In case of an emergency, just send us a mail and we'll get back to you asap.

I forgot the password to my IBS-Account. What do I do?

Don't worry! Just click on „Forgot your password?“ on our Login-Page and your password will be sent to your registered Email-account.

I'd like to visit you guys. Is that possible?

Of course! Just let us know 24 hours in advance, so that we have time to clean our desks from half-eaten candy bars and beer bottle caps.

Do you also do the sound for animatics (or TVCs)?

Yes, indeed! Funky Frame Films offers the full-service package with illustration, production and sound. The latter will be taken care of by our partner With Love and Data. They are also happy to cater to your sound related needs for your TVC.

ILLUSTRATION

I'm looking for the right illustrator for my project. What do I do?

We'd be glad to assist you! You got two options:

Either you call us (+49 241-36925) or you email us (illu@funkyframe.de) and we'll send you a lightbox with illustrators that fit your timing and style needs. If you prefer to check out all our artists yourself, you can do so on the Illustrators page. Here you can sort by topics and format and find the best person for your project.

My budget is limited. How do I know how much the illustrations cost?

Feel free to give us your budget right with the request and we'll do our best to fulfill your budgetary needs. If you are an art buyer or producer you're able to use our Illustrator Booking System (IBS), which allows you to see the prices of each artist. That way you certainly find an artist that is within your budget. In order to use the IBS you need to create an account. You can do that on your own or we can do it for you:  info@funkyframe.de or +49 241-36925.

I'd like to place an option on an artist. What do I do?

If you already have an account for our Illustrator Booking System (IBS), you can place your options or make a booking by yourself. In order to do that you select the days you'd like to opt/book and confirm with the blue (option) or green (booking) button. To help you with that, we have a video tutorial where everything is explained in detail. This can be found at the top of the calendar under "Video Tutorials". You can also contact us by email (info@funkyframe.de) or phone (+49 241-36925) and we place the option or make the booking for you.

I'd like to know if an illustrator is available for my project. How can I check that quickly?

If you already have an account for our Illustrator Booking System (IBS), you can check the IBS-Calendar at a glance to see whether the desired artist is available within your time period. If the day is marked red, it means that he is already booked elsewhere. If it is blue, he already has an option, in which case you can still make a booking request. This is possible Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm. Once you have requested your booking, the other agency has a time limit of two hours to convert their option into a booking (or cancel the option). If the agency doesn't book the artist within two hours, your request successfully turns into a booking of said artist.

How many frames can be done in one day?

That depends on several factors: the format (Storyboard, Animatic, Key Visual, s/w, colored, etc.), the complexity of your idea/concept, as well as the artist himself. A rough guideline would be: 10 to 15 Scribbles (rough sketches), about 5-7 colored storyboard frames and 3-4 colored animatic frames (including layers) per day. We cannot guarantee those quantities and they do not take into account the usual correctional loops or feedback delays.

My option was requested by a third party for booking. What now?

Don't panic! From the time of the booking request you have two hours to react. This means you can book the illustrator or let us know if you want us to do it for you. If you are not able to confirm the booking in this timeframe, unfortunately the third party (mostly agencies like yours) will have booked the illustrator. If that is the case, we are happy to help you find a proper replacement asap.

ANIMATION

What´s the turnaround of a typical Animatic production?

This depends strongly on the content, as well as the length of the animatic. For an animatic of about 12 to 15 scenes (single pictures) with a length of 20 to 30 seconds without various language versions, we usually need about 3 weeks from the first briefing to the finished film, including corrections within the various work phases by the agency AND the customer. In case you have less time, we nevertheless try to make everything possible - since half the production time is usually consumed by feedback loops, those might have to be shortened.

We already have illustrations, we would like them to be animated. Is it possible?

Sure. We also work with illustrations delivered by you or artists that are not part of our portfolio. However, the booking, organisation and financial matters concerning the illustrator will be your responsibility. If no images have been created, we make a joint briefing and discuss what we need for the animation. If the illustrations already exist, we may have to create additional layers that we need for the animation. For those cases we have in-house illustrators who are ready for action.

We only need illustration and animation, no sound. Are you fine with that?

Yes. We always recommend to book the complete package, though, because we have a great workflow with With Love and Data, who are professionals in creating sound for animatics. But of course you may also produce sound yourself.

Can you also produce 3D animation?

Yes, we can. For certain scenes/elements in animatics we use 3D and also produce films which are completely 3D animated. If you are interested and want to know what is possible, just contact us!

Do you do music research?

Absolutely. We offer a unique music-sourcing process to find exactly the right track for your animatic. Every so often the buyouts for the music that we´re casting is later acquired for the TVC.

What is the difference between a Photomatic and Animatic?

Animatics are created with illustrations. Photomatics on the other hand are created with actual photos. Those are either taken at a photoshoot, organized by us for this occasion, or found online at professional stock material websites.
