PHOTOMATIC (Production: Funky Frame Films)

Epic Shot

Photomatic for Tic Tac

The young man focusses. He´s squinting his eyes, his aim is in his sights, penalty distance. This might be his only try, because he doesn´t seem to notice the curious, but skeptical bystanders . Tunnel vision. Now he jumps, elegantly performing a classic throw.

But instead of a basketball a Tic Tac hits the modified basket - only to fall through and land in the open mouth of his buddy with pinpoint accuracy!

Truly an Epic Shot...

A while ago we produced this test film for Tic Tac for Heimat Berlin (and their client Ferrero).

Instead of going for the usual test film format of an illustrated Animatic (animated illustrations) the client opted for a Photomatic instead (animated photographies).

It quickly became clear that we would not be able to find suitable footage in internet stock archives for the majority of the required scenes.

With a photo shooting becoming mandatory we started off with contacting model agencies Brüderchen & Schwesterchen and Sevens - as we always do when distinct characters are needed for a story-driven photomatic film.

So after casting the models (and their outfits/stylings), Funky Frame gathered with experienced photographer Jan Grüger and crew at the studio of Ralf Liess and took the photographs of a group of young people playing Tic Tac Trickshot Basket Ball.

FYI: we found out that firing a Tic Tac with a slingshot and then catching it with your mouth really is within the realm of possibility (not joking, only took 2 tries!).

The video below shows the result of our animation work in collaboration with Alex Jacobi Audiovisuell Intelligence for the audio part.
